Picture-in-Picture (PiP) floats a lesson in a small window that stays on top while you follow along in Procreate.
Your lessons live in Freya Studio: studio.freya.courses for Freya courses, studio.twotap.art for Twotap courses and the Summit.
1. Picture-in-Picture
Start the lesson, then use the picture-in-picture button in the player. The video pops out into a small floating window. You can drag it around, and pinch it larger or smaller.
On an iPad, put the video into full screen first. That is when the button appears, and it is the reason most people cannot find it.
2. Split View
Swipe up the dock, drag Procreate to one edge, and you get Studio and Procreate side by side with a divider you can slide.
Split View is the better option for long lessons, because nothing floats over your canvas.
If the PiP button never appears
- Check Settings โ General โ Picture in Picture on your iPad is switched on.
- Try Safari.
- Make sure iPadOS is up to date. The button only shows when the browser supports it.
The player also has a playback speed control, and slowing a fiddly step down to 0.75 is often the thing that actually helps.
